Whether you are a stay-at-home parent, someone looking for passive income, or wanting to transition into a digital nomad lifestyle, there are ways to make money from home.

Businesses are already seeing this trend and now offer job opportunities that you can do at home and can even earn you more cash than you would do from a regular job.

So here are 15 easy ways to make money from home.

1. Amazon Virtual Jobs

If you have basic customer service experience, research skills, and know-how in chat technologies, you can make money from home by finding some Amazon virtual jobs.

You need to be a US resident to get an Amazon virtual job. It also requires some familiarity with online shopping.

Virtual assistant jobs, in general, are one of the best opportunities to make money from home.

Companies will require certain specific skills, they require good English and communication skills, organizational skills, and some data entry skills.

2. Remote Writing Jobs

Many people nowadays are looking for remote output-based jobs over hour-based jobs. This allows them to make money from home while also freeing more time to spend time with their family, or simply make their time work better for them.

One example of output-based jobs that you can do is freelance writing. Some companies offer various jobs for different types of writing. For example: content writer jobs, copywriting jobs, and even technical writing jobs.

You can sign up for the job boards like Elance, Freelancer, oDesk, and Fiverr, which offer plenty of remote work.

3. Online Tutoring Jobs

Aside from writing jobs, you can also do remote work such as teaching English online, or any language for that matter.

While being a native speaker puts you at an advantage over non-native speakers, online tutoring jobs require you to have a good grasp of the language.

You can apply as a tutor on sites like Teach Away or VIPKID. These sites are looking for native speakers who can teach English to kids.

If you think online tutoring is not for you, you can monetize your other skills by signing up for sites like Skillshare, Udemy, and Coursera.

If you consider yourself an expert in guitar, yoga, Adobe Photoshop, etc., you might as well earn from it!

4. Start A Blog

Speaking of skills, you can share your expertise through blogs. Blogs don’t instantly pay you cash, but can you earn good passive income if you can generate enough traffic to your site.

You can start a blog through sites like Bluehost, Wix or WordPress. Blogs can earn money through the ads that they display. You are, in a sense, selling ad space.

Businesses also pay you in exchange for promotion, especially if you already have regular site visitors. While anyone can blog, it takes patience and hard work to continue blogging for years before you can see results.

5. Affiliate Marketing Jobs

Another way to make money from home is through affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is promoting products and earning commission when people purchase products through your link.

Some affiliate programs like Amazon Affiliate Programs require you to have a website with a significant amount of traffic in order to be able to market their products.

However, you can still earn through affiliate programs that don’t require a website like Flipkart affiliate marketing. You can recommend products through email marketing, social media sites, discussion boards, etc.

6. Build An Online Store

Through affiliate programs, you can earn you cash through commission. However, if you want to earn even more money, you can also build an online store and sell your own products.

We have already mentioned sites like Wix and WordPress, which allows you to integrate an online store on your website.

As an alternative, you can also build an online store through Shopify. While you don’t need coding skills you set up your store, you should have an idea of how you want your site to look like.

There’s also another e-commerce business that you might want to consider and it’s called dropshipping. Dropshipping is a new business model that’s gaining much traction with people who want to get into e-commerce but don’t want the hassle of inventory.

Just like affiliate marketing, dropshipping doesn’t require to have the items on hand. However, if you want to get into dropshipping, you might need to get hands-on when it comes to handling orders and updating your customers on the status of their orders.

Alternatively, sites like Oberlo can take care of this for you. Oberlo has a semi-automatic order fulfilling feature. You will need to initiate the purchase by ordering the products.

7. Participate In Paid Surveys

Another easy way to make money from home is by participating in paid surveys. Before companies spend millions of dollars in designing, manufacturing, and distributing products, they want to gain insights on whether their products will sell.

They do this by garnering the opinion of focus groups who are more likely to buy their products. These focus groups are often required to test the product and answer a short survey, which the company then pays for.

Sites like Survey Junkie, Swagbucks, and Inbox Dollars make this easier by getting people to answer these surveys in exchange for some cash.

8. Get Paid To Watch Videos

If you call yourself a “movie buff,” you might as well get paid to watch these movies and videos. Sites like Inbox Dollars and Swagbucks don’t only pay you to answer surveys, but they also pay you to watch videos.

Bear in mind that watching videos may not make as much money as doing remote writing or virtual jobs. However, this is one of the side jobs that you can do with minimal effort or concentration.

You can watch videos while doing chores at home, or even while you work in the office (although we don’t recommend the last one!).

9. Earn Money As A Product Tester

There are a lot of get-paid-to websites and one we like in particular are product tester jobs. Opinion Outpost, Soapbox, and Pinecone Research are some of the sites that offer opportunities for product testers.

Businesses found product testing was a cheap way of marketing their products, as well as getting customer reviews. These product testing jobs might not pay you actual cash, but you receive these items for free in exchange for honest reviews.

10. Sell Your Photos Online

Magazine companies and even websites, look for photos that they can publish. If you have some good photos that you think companies will be interested in, you can monetize on this by giving these companies copyright claims for a good fee.

Adobe Stock, Etsy, and Shutterstock allow you to upload photos and display them to businesses that are looking for photos in their niches.

EyeEm is a photography site with a huge collection of photos from expert photographers and hobbyist photographers alike. All you need to do is upload high-quality images onto these sites. Remember to use appropriate tags so businesses can easily find your photos.

11. Sell Used Clothes

Keeping up with the Konmari trend, you might want to get rid of clothes or items in your home that no longer spark joy.

Sites like eBay, Craigslist, and Decluttr allow you to sell items at a cheap price. Alternatively, you can hold a garage sale for items that you want to get rid of. Some people flip items for a living, and if you have the time to get into this business, it could be a good opportunity to earn money as well.

12. Rent Out Your Space

If you don’t mind having a stranger in your home, you can earn decent passive income by renting out your space. You can bring in a significant amount of cash, especially if you are located near the city or near a good, touristy spot.

You can list your property on sites like Airbnb, Booking.com, or Vrbo – all having hundreds of properties in their books. It might take a little time to gain good ratings but remember this is a good, long-run solution.

13. Work As A Dog Walker

If you are an animal lover, this might be the perfect side job for you. Like humans, dogs need to get outdoors and take walks for exercise. You will find plenty of fur-parents who are more than happy to pay someone to take their pet out for a stroll.

Many pet owners have day jobs and don’t always have the time to walk their pets. Signing up as a dog walker on sites like Rover, Petsitter, and Dogwalker mean that you earn by simply taking a few hours out of your day and spending it outdoors with some lovely pets.

14. Get Paid To Lose Weight

Whether you are a fitness buff or just searching for motivation to get healthy, there is an app called Sweatcoin that rewards you for taking long walks. However, Sweatcoin doesn’t pay you in cash.

Although if you save enough coins, you can purchase gift cards or items within the app. These items are all angled towards creating a better, healthier you.

Apps like Sweatcoins make money by partnering with various brands and offering interesting discounts. Now, if you are more serious about losing weight, you can also use apps like Healthywage or Dietbet.

These apps allow people to bet on your weight loss goal. If you are able to achieve the goal you set, you get their money.

15. Clock Some Hours As A Delivery Driver

Last but not least, you can also get into the food delivery business with Uber Eats, Postmates, Doordash, or Delivery.com.

People often book food deliveries so they won’t have to wait in line. Others don’t have enough time to cook dinners themselves and their families. If you have a vehicle at your disposal and know your way around the neighborhood, you may find food delivery jobs a good opportunity to earn.

DoorDash pays you per delivery. While with Postmates, you can earn you up to $25 per hour.

In Conclusion…

Remote jobs offer the promise of more time in your hands as compared to working a 9 to 5 job. More and more people are looking for jobs that offer this kind of flexibility and freedom.

Even if you aren’t looking to quit your 9 to 5, these are great ways to earn money on the side to supplement your regular income. Aim towards saving whatever you make from these additional jobs and you could definitely be on your way to making a hefty sum in savings!
